Tattoos to get (partially for my own reference)
- Map Back piece, complete with map pins in places I’ve already visited.
- Guardian angel…. somewhere
- “Tribe” in braille on my ankle, to commemorate the brilliant times that high school gave to me.
- Tandem Bicycle themed tattoo (needs more working out)
- Montrose family crest, aka an “M” inside a heart, drawn by my mother on everything we own.

Formation
Beneath the fibers,
the towels,
the blankets.
I wrap myself after a shower.
Let the water
Clinging to my skin
Turn hot from the heat of my body.
It lets go now,
And is absorbed by my cotton cocoon.
I marinate here,
And let my good intentions
form again.
I hatch as a fresh creature,
Full of inspiration and resolve.
Fragile and young
Though I may be,
The world outside the cotton cocoon
Has no sympathies.
At the end of the day
I find myself retreating to the shower,
Where all that exists is
My mind, the hot water,
And the dust of the day,
Collecting, swirling, and exiting
Through the grated drain.
